Cloud Systems Development Manager


A Cloud Systems Development Manager with strong Cloud based systems experience in Aws is required by our Oil and Gas client based from Edinburgh, Midlothian.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Systems Development Manager will manage a small team that is driving the development of the Cloud Platforms. You will own and maintain the product roadmap, developed in alignment with the strategic objectives set by the board, and supported by the Technical Director.

This role requires exceptional hands-on development skills, as well as the ability to motivate and empower team members to deliver both incremental improvements and ground-breaking innovations. We have a commitment to microservices, running in AWS, and are looking to embed devops practices within the team.

Our client is a forward thinking company with ambitious vision offering technologies to advance the Oil & Gas industry. They are a small home based company who have been leading the market for over 15 years.

Required skills:

- Strong cloud based software development

- Excellent knowledge of AWS and microservices

- Java Development skills as well as UML design.

- A mixture of hands on development experience and team leadership is essential

Who would suit this role?

This is an opportunity for an experienced Systems Development Manager to bring their skillset to a firm offering a market leading Cloud Solution to assist them keep ahead of the game. You will be given a chance to lead cloud based projects as well as a home based role and ongoing support and training.

Salary:

Basic salary is negotiable, but initially set out as:

£55k to £65k basic plus training and support plus home working.

Location:

Edinburgh, Scotland

This role is home based working remotely, but applicants are ideally to be based near Edinburgh.

Commute from: Scotland / Glasgow / Aberdeen / Perth / Falkirk / Dundee / Stirling / Dunfermline
