Job Brief
CV Screen were approached to source a Python Developer for a Software House who develop solutions for the Defence and Security Sector.
The role overview was an opportunity for someone to join a company of 55 staff who develop Internet-facing systems, complex data and analytics, and machine intelligence.
Given the challenge of finding strong Python Developers, CV Screen consulted with the organisation and discussed the option of a fully remote position with travel to the HQ in Gloucestershire occasionally.
Recruitment Process
Given the difficulty in recruiting Python Developers, CV Screen cast the net far and wide. The particular challenge was that candidates also need to be Security Cleared which added to the challenge!
Our team set up alerts on the CV databases to let them know when a Software Engineer with Python came onto the market. This provided a number of candidates to speak to, but given that these candidates were being approached by a number of clients and recruiters, speed was of the essence.
Our Python specialist recruiter managed to identify Joshua from LinkedIn after being alerted that he was now open to work. After discussing the role with Joshua, it was apparent that a home-based role such as this was exactly what he was looking for.
About Joshua
After Graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2021 in Mathematics & Computer Science, Joshua has spent the last 18 months as a Software Engineer for a leading IT Consultancy.
He has around 18 months of Python Development experience and a passion for learning. Our role provided him with the opportunity to get involved with some exciting IT projects for the defence sector, working on AI, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics.
He was put through the Security Clearance and started his new role in August 2022.
